We now turn you over to our host, the magnificent grandmaster of ceremonious festivities,
Salmoneus...
Our main sponsor this evening is the Hades Hair Parlour. I'll turn you over now
to the founder of that fine establishment, just back from opening up a new location in the far
east -- the lord of the underworld, Hades himself! Everybody applaud!
Welcome to the Simulcast of the 1999 ARGO AWARDS coming to you live from Logomancy.
I'm Salmoneus, and I and our other hosts will be with you throughout tonight's
gala event. Huzzah!
Hairstylists in the know have been keeping an eye on my nephew Ares' long locks and imaginative
sideburns. The bouncy look is gaining ground among the more fashionable warlords, who have been
beating a warpath to the beauty parlour for a good conditioner.
That's it for now. Back to you, Salmoneus.
Thank you, Sal. Our special guests are arriving in droves, and I must say I haven't seen such an
interesting assortment of hairstyles since the Medusa brought Samson in for a haircut.
Xena's boldly experimental "In Sickness and In Hell" hair never quite caught on,
but Najara's short look became all the rage, even among sidekicks...
Alti's here, sporting her trademark dead animal look...
...we're seeing the occasional pageboy bob...
...the spiked look...
...and of course, the classic Roman "someone upended an urn over my head" look.
Thank you, Hades.
It was a pleasure. See you soon. Or eventually.
Uhm... thank you.
And now it's time for the Big Event. The first envelope, please...

They passed me over again this year! Is it too much to ask? I think
the great B.S. Hollingsfoffer said it best, "More Salmoneus!" Oh well.
There's always next year.

I'm more of a lover than a fighter myself. I guess that's one thing
that Gabrielle and I share. I mean, she was fighting for her lover...
Censor: You can't say that! Xena and Gabrielle are just "friends."
Yeah. And I donate all my spare dinars to charity!

The love-o-meter reading on that one says "Cold Fish!" Although, there was

Ahhhh. A classic tale of two soulmates as they face
eternity, together. It's beautiful baby!
Censor: Ahem. They're just FRIENDS!
Sorry buddy, you can't censor love! That's all for this
year folks. Hope you had as LOVELY a time as I did. And just remember,
keep the faith, be good to yourself and to those around you. Later.
That wraps up this evening's presentation and another year of XENA excellence. Be sure to visit
the Logomancy Xena pages during the summer for new games -- they're working on a SimTV game that
should be a blast! We hope to see you at Logomancy when the 100th Episode Gala
comes around, and, of course, for the Year 2000 ARGO Awards!
For all of us here at the Olympic Broadcasting Network, Goodnight! Everybody wave!
