commentary: During a skirmish with the Germans, Troy suffers a concussion from an explosion. He ends up alone and lost in the desert. By the time he is found he has a terrible case of sunblindness. Unknown to Troy, though, his "rescue" has been by a German unit that is pretending to be Americans so they can coax Troy to tell him where the rest of the Rat Patrol is. Dietrich is the engineer behind this ploy.In the end, recovering from the sunblindness in the nick of time, Troy escapes.

Jan's Notes: Blind Man's Bluff Raid aka That's life, Old Buddy!
23 March 1999

This is the episode where the famous line "Don't call me Sarge" originates. I get the feeling that Moffitt is uncomfortable taking control of the group. Guess he figures he can't really fill Troy's shoes and his worry translates into him biting Hitch's head off.

Dietrich is really nasty. No hearts of gold for him even though he did give Troy sunglasses. Big deal. Keeping Troy blind. Bad, Bad Dietrich.

That German nurse fighting to preserve the life she grew up with? Who is she kidding? And her hair looks like a wig.

We learn about Tully's nanny in this episode also, which raises all sorts of questions about Tully and his family. Also, I get this wonderful image as Tully as a two year old chasing after a butterfly. He must have been an adorable little boy. Pardon me, I'm having a "Tully" moment.

Moffitt takes his ascot off in this episode.

Good episode for Troy watchers. He sure has a nice smile and he's a pretty good kisser too. Charms the socks right off the nurse in order to change the drops.

Well, Dietrich figured he finally had the patrol. But he should have known better. Troy foiled him again and he gave back the sunglasses. Also to added injury to insult, he attacked Dietrich's column. And we get the patented Dietrich "Oh no, not again" look.
