Thank you for joining us for the ARGO AWARDS 2000 LIVE SIMULCAST, broadcasting from our new home at the Palau Palau Network, land of tropical breezes!
We now turn you over to our host, polishing off his microphone for the fourth year in a row,
the magnificent grandmaster of ceremonious festivities,
Salmoneus...
Welcome to the Simulcast of the ARGO AWARDS 2000 coming to you live from Logomancy.
I'm Salmoneus, and I and our other hosts will be with you throughout tonight's
gala event. Huzzah!
People are starting to fill the auditorium... It won't be long now.
For the big Fifth Season Argos 2000, all of Olympus agreed to join
us as presenters, with Zeus Pater himself, the biggest thunderer in town, as special guest host. For
personal reasons, Zeus cannot be present tonight, so graciously filling in for him at short notice is --
your hero and mine -- the Daring Dragoon. Everybody applaud!
Thanks, Sal. Glad to be here. It's time for the Main Event. Here with the first three categories of the evening, our first presenter, Athena, goddess of wisdom and battle. Filling in for Athena will be Cleo. Everyone give a huge round of applause for this talented young lady.
Thank you, Mr Dragoon! Our first exciting category is...
![]() Xena vs Elainis/Ares vs Athena "Amphipolis Under Siege" |
![]() Xena vs the Gods at Meg's Tavern "Motherhood" |
![]() Xena vs Gabrielle/Heaven vs Hell "Fallen Angel" |
And the Winner Is...
Xena vs the Gods at Meg's Tavern, "Motherhood"
The breakdown: Xena vs the Gods at Meg's Tavern - Motherhood (24.2% of the vote);
Xena vs Gabrielle/Heaven vs Hell - Fallen Angel (15.8%);
Xena vs Elainis/Ares vs Athena - Amphipolis Under Siege (10.2%)
I have it on good authority Amarice was one of the contenders for this award. That amazon really kicked butt. Next, our second really absolutely exciting category....

And the Winner Is...
"Fallen Angel"
The breakdown: Fallen Angel (31.0% of the vote);
Antony & Cleopatra (26.2%);
Lyre, Lyre, Hearts on Fire (15.5%)
Those angels have a real sense of fashion, and it can't be easy designing a slinky little
evening number with room for wings, a breastplate, and a sword. The next fantastically exciting category is...
![]() Ted Raimi as Joxer/Jace in "Lyre, Lyre, Hearts on Fire" |
![]() Claire Stansfield as Alti in "Them Bones, Them Bones" |

Thank you Cleo for your enthusiastic job. Next from our crew of presenters, scheduled for a rare speaking appearance, is the lady with the bow, Artemis. Filling in for Artemis is a lady who's sharp as an arrow herself, Emilia. Big hand for Emilia. Woo hoo!
Thank you, Daring Dragoon. (Please keep your big hands to yourself.) The next category is...
![]() Michael Hurst for "Antony & Cleopatra" |

And quite a brilliant job was done by all the nominees in this category that recognises one of the most difficult tasks in the production of a series. It is the director who brings story, characters, and vision together into a whole. Of course, the very foundation of it all is the story itself, which brings us to our next category.
![]() R J Stewart for "Motherhood" |
![]() R J Stewart for "Fallen Angel" |
![]() Rick Jacobson for "Looking Death in the Eye" |
And the Winner Is...
R J Stewart for "Fallen Angel"

We're not sure exactly what musical scoring in an episode is, but Cleo assures us this episode, uhm, totally rocked. And now, two awards for (another) great duo...
![]() "Fallen Angel" |
![]() "Seeds of Faith" |
![]() "Motherhood" |

This next category is my favourite...
3rd place:
"You're with her now. I handled you all wrong, I know that. She knew what you needed and unselfish love - and I couldn't give that to you. But, I appreciated you in ways she never could. Your rage...your violence...your beauty. When you sacrificed yourself for others, you were hers. But when you kicked ass, you were mine."
Ares in "Looking Death in the Eye" (Written by Rick Jacobson) (4.6%)
2nd place:
"Callisto, when Xena burned your family, did you see them on fire? Did you...did you smell their flesh sizzling? You know what I think? I think you wanted them to die so you'd have a reason to be a BITCH!"
DemonGab in "Fallen Angel" (Written by R J Stewart) (4.9%)
And the winner is:
Gabrielle - "Xena, it looks like you got your daughter back."
from "Motherhood" (Written by R J Stewart) (9.6% of the vote)
Xena - "No, we got our daughter back."
Back to you, Sal, for the final two categories.
Thank you, Daring Dragoon. Joining me for the next presentation, Uncle Sam's favourite son, Jack Stiles. Say, you look a little familiar....
