King Con

The usual caveats apply -- some images came out great, some not so great. The next one in the row may be better quality and close to the same image.

Some commentary from Caesar Julius Caesar on how the game is played in Rome:

Tali (or Knucklebones) is perhaps the most popular game played among the Romans. It resembles the game of dice except that sets of marked bones are used. Tali was inherited from the Greeks, who originally made the pieces from astragali, or the knucklebones of sheep or goats. Romans use a variety of materials to make their tali, such as ivory, marble, wood, bone, bronze, glass, terracotta, and precious gems or metals. The four sides of the tali are inscribed with symbols and each side has a different value: 1, 3, 4 or 6. Four tali are thrown at a time. One variation on tali involves throwing the dice into the neck of a glass jar, requiring skill as well as chance -- only the tali that enter the jar count. [rules condensed from Roman Board Games]
